DEPOSTJABAR.COM (BANDUNG).- Langkah pasangan ganda putra Indonesia Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin terhenti di babak empat besar Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Sabtu 27 Mei 2023, malam WIB.

Leo/Daniel kalah 17-21 dan 20-22 dari pasangan tuan rumah, Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee (Malaysia), pada babak semifinal Malaysia Masters 2023.

Dengan demikian Wei Chong/Wun Tee yang berhak mendapatkan tiket ke babak final Malaysia Masters 2023, Minggu 28 Mei 2023.

Kegagalan Leo/Daniel menambah daftar kegagalan wakil Indonesia di Malaysia Masters 2023.

Sebelumnya, tunggal putra Indonesia, Christian Adinata, juga gagal mencapai babak final Malaysia Masters 2023.

Adinata gagal raih tiket final, karena tidak bisa meneruskan pertandingan babak semifinal Malaysia Masters 2023 menghadapi Prannoy HS (India) di Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Sabtu 27 Mei 2023, sore.

Pemain berusia 21 tahun itu tidak bisa melanjutkan pertandingan, karena alami cedera lutut.

Adinata alami cedera setelah lakukan smash saat kedudukan 17-19 untuk keunggulan Prannoy di set pertama.

Lutut kaki kiri Adinata yang jadi tumpuan usai loncat alami cedera akibatnya pemain yang ada di ranking 57 dunia itu langsung meringis kesakitan.

Tim dokter turnamen langsung memeriksa kondisi Adinata yang terus memegangi lutut kirinya yang terlihat bengkak.

Setelah berdiskusi degan tim pelatih dan Adinata, tim dokter turnamen meminta kepada sang pemain untuk menghentikan pertandingan.

Tim dokter khawatir, cedera Adinata semakin parah jika meneruskan pertandingan.

Akhirnya, pertandingan dihentikan dan Prannoy dianggap memenangi pertandingan dengan skor 19-17 di set pertama. Prannoy pun berhasil lolos ke babak final Malaysia Masters 2023.

Di babak final, Prannoy akan menantang pemenang dari laga yang memertemukan Lin Chun-yi (Taiwan) kontra Weng Hongyang (China).

Berbeda dengan Adinata dan Leo/Daniel, tunggal putri Indonesia Gregoria Mariska Tunjung berhasil melaju ke babak final Malaysia Masters 2023 usai megalahkan pemain asal India, Pusarla V Sindhu.

Bertanding di babak semifinal yang digelar di Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Sabtu 27 Mei 2023, Gregoria menang dengan skor 21-14 dan 21-17 lewat laga 45 menit.

Kemenangan atas Pusarla membuat Gregoria berpeluang untuk menjadi juara satu-satunya tunggal putri Indonesia di Malaysia Masters 2023.
