Tempat yang bisa Anda gunakan untuk melakukan budidaya lobster air tawar ada banyak, bisa dengan menggunakan akuarium atau kolam. Ukuran yang ideal adalah 200 x 200 x 50 cm untuk bayi lobster dan satu indukan, atau dengan ukuran 2 x 1 x 0,5 meter untuk 1000 ekor bibit lobster.

- Pilih Induk Lobster dengan Tepat
Indukan lobster harus dipilih secara tepat agar mampu menghasilkan lobster air tawar yang baik dan memperoleh keuntungan yang maksimal. Indukan lobster air tawar yang siap untuk dipijah adalah yang berusia minimal 6 bulan
- Pemijahan Lobster
Ukuran bak bisa dibuat tergantung ukuran dan tingkat kepadatan lobster. Umumnya, 1-2 ekor induk jantan dengan 3 ekor indukan betina. Tingkat kepadatan lebar kolam pemijahan yang ideal adalah 3-5 ekor/ m².
Selain itu, jagalah tingkat kestabilan air antara 30 cm dengan suhu 23-29 derajat celcius agar proses pemijahan bisa berjalan lancar. Pemberian pakan juga harus dilakukan 2 kali sehari dengan dosis 3% banyak dari total biomassa dalam sehari
