DEPOSTJABAR.COM (BANDUNG),- Organisasi Daya Mahasiswa Sunda (Damas) dapat berperan sebagai juru damai atau penengah jika terjadi konflik pada pesta demokrasi Pemilihan Presiden 2024 mendatang.

Hal itu dikemukakan Gubernur Jawa Barat Ridwan Kamil saat menghadiri Milangkala ke-66 Organisasi Daya Mahasiswa Sunda (Damas), di Aula Timur Gedung Sate, Kota Bandung, Sabtu (15/10/2022).

“Titip Damas harus jadi penengah, pendamai, pemadam kebakaran, bukan sebaliknya,” kata Ridwan Kamil.

Menurut Kang Emil, sapaan akrabnya, proses demokrasi di Indonesia masih terdapat kekurangan, yaitu mudahnya masyarakat bertengkar karena perbedaan pandangan. Bahkan netizen Indonesia dinilai paling julid di media sosial.

“Demkorasi kan dari segala hal yang positif, tapi  kita masih ada kekurangan, yaitu mudah bertengkar. Dilihat dari indeks kejulidan netizen juga tertinggi,” sebut Kang Emil.

Untuk itu peran dari organisasi berbasis kesundaan seperti Damas sangat diperlukan agar tercipta kondusivitas.

Kang Emil pun mengajak semua elemen masyarakat untuk mensukseskan proses demokrasi lima tahunan nanti. “Jelang 2024 semua elemen masyarakat mari sukseskan proses demokrasi,” ajaknya.

Di hadapan para pengurus Damas, Kang Emil juga menyampaikan pencapaian pembangunan Jabar selama kurun waktu empat tahun terakhir. Kendati begitu masih ada kekurangan yang harus diperbaiki, salah satunya lewat kolaborasi dengan Damas.

“Pencapaian Jabar sudah sangat baik sejauh ini, kekurangan yang ada harus kita perbaiki dengan peran organisasi termasuk Damas yang berbasis kesundaan,” pungkas Kang Emil. (Ali)
